[edit] Martial Styles
At level 15, Monks can choose one of three martial styles. Styles have special attacks and abilities within them. The three styles are:
[edit] Dragon Style
Hard/External style, focused on AoE attacks and mystical powers
[edit] Stances
[edit] Sample Attack
-Point Blank AoE attack + stun
[edit] Harmonious Body Style
Harmonious Body focuses on a clear mind and power of the spirit more so then the other styles. Most of the abilities cause weakness of some sort in the enemy and can further be exploited by others or yourself. When you adopt the aspect of the Crane you become a skilled at using your weapon and evasion to foil the enemy. You also become heartier and wear out slower, but your damage falls. Adopting the aspect of the Tiger imbues you with the ferocity and deadlyness of the Tiger, you know exactly where to hit where it hurts and your chance to inflict a critical goes up by a large margin, unfortunately you wear out MUCH sooner then a normal person would.
[edit] Quest Giver
The Master of the Harmonious Body Style is Krait Muratsu
He is found in the South of Kojan, South and a little bit East of Tawar Galan, and West of Ca'ial Bra'el (in the South West corner of that mapchunk basically).
Krait requires you to complete 3 quests:
The Flowers of the Deep
Focus the Center
The Grains of Time
On completion of the third, he teaches you the 3 stances and Aum of the Harmonious Body.
[edit] Stances
[edit] Sample Attack
-Steals damage from target. It will stack up to three times.
[edit] Drunken Style
Mixed Style, focused on evasion and powerful counter attacks
[edit] Stances
[edit] Sample Attack
- Drunken Arms of the Cyclone
-Multi hit attack, high damage.
[edit] Progression
There is a Monk trainer in Tursh that will send you on to specific trainers at level 15. They will be able to train you in the specific attacks and abilities once you commit to a path.

"And Monks are BAD A$$" - Talisker [1]
"Monks are going to be very good at causing their opponents to suffer from vulnerabilities that other classes can then take advantage of.
Talisker gave an example (I don't know if it was made up just to illustrate the point or if it was an actual ability) of a ranger attack that might do double damage if the opponent is stunned. The problem is that the ranger can't set himself up for this attack because he can't stun the opponent (at least not with an opener). Time to call a monk... because the monk WILL be able to stun the opponent and allow the ranger to use his special attack to its greatest effect.
Another class has an attack that requires the opponent to be off balance? In steps the monk again and sets the table for his comrades.
Talisker talked about several classes having skills that are dependent on other classes causing a weakness for them to take advantage of... and the impression I got from talking to him was that the monk will be one of the best at causing these weaknesses.
He also talked about monk's attack chains having different effects based on what order they are used. (I didn't take notes on this, so hopefully my memory is correct.) To give an example with my own completely made up skills... If a monk uses Flying Kick and then Dragon Fist... the Dragon Fist could have a different effect than if he had used Diving Phoenix first and then followed it with the Dragon Fist.
To me, it sounds like monks will be one of the most versatile melee damage dealers. Able to cause whatever weakness their group mates need, and also able to tailor their attacks depending on their own needs."

"Very good extrapolation, grasshopper."
