Many actions in Vanguard, whether in combat, parley, harvesting or crafting are broken into three groups which are chained in a sequence for maximum effect. Confirmation is needed for harvesting and crafting, but parley does not use the system of bridges anymore.

Bridges are abilities which can only be accessed when an opener has been used to commence a chain. They give access to finishers.
